Our retired adults are truly angels, each with their own unique personality, habits, preferences, and little ways of expressing love. These cats have been part of our home, our breeding program, and our hearts, so finding the right retirement family for them is something we take very seriously.

When we select homes for our retired queens and studs, our expectations are even higher. The reason we choose to rehome some of our adults is not because they are any less loved, but because with limited time, space, and attention, we want them to receive as much individual love, care, and companionship as possible. They deserve a home where they can be prioritized, cherished, and treated as a true family member for the rest of their life.

For this reason, we hope families considering a retired adult are looking for the cat themselves, not simply searching for a playmate for an existing pet in the home. While many of our adults may get along well with other cats or pets depending on their personality, their own comfort and happiness must come first. They are not “starter pets” or background companions — they are mature cats with established personalities, and they deserve a home that is chosen specifically for them.

All of our retired adults are wonderful, but unlike kittens, their personalities are already quite fixed and may be difficult to change. Some may be extremely affectionate and people-focused, while others may prefer a calmer environment, more personal space, or a slower adjustment period. We will always provide as detailed and honest of a personality description as possible, and we kindly ask potential families to read each description carefully, word by word, so you fully understand what kind of cat you are welcoming into your home.

We also ask families to think thoroughly before considering adoption. Bringing home a retired adult can be incredibly rewarding, but it also requires patience, respect, and realistic expectations. They may need time to adjust to a new environment, new people, and new routines. Some may settle in quickly, while others may need more time and reassurance. What matters most to us is that they are treated with love, patience, and understanding throughout the process.

For their long-term protection, we strongly expect families to purchase pet health insurance for our retired adults. As cats get older, unexpected veterinary costs can become overwhelming, and we understand how expensive vet bills can be. Health insurance is one of the most responsible ways to provide prevention, protection, and peace of mind. To us, this is one of the least but most important steps a family can take to protect them.

We also hope to receive updates after adoption, especially during the first year. Weekly to monthly updates are greatly appreciated, whether directly through message, through social media, or in any other comfortable way. We do not wish to disturb your life or make you feel pressured, but these updates help us know that the cats we raised and loved are living happy, safe, and well-adjusted lives.

Lastly, for adult adoptions, we will require a copy of your provincial ID. This information will be kept private, protected, and secure, but it is a necessary part of our adult adoption process. Because these adults are so important to us, we want to make sure every placement is responsible, transparent, and made with serious commitment.

More than anything, we ask every family to make one lifelong promise to us: please love them, protect them, and treat them as family. They may be retired from our breeding program, but they are not retired from being loved. They deserve a peaceful, stable, and deeply caring home for the rest of their lives.
